Design Your Garden Workshop

Every garden workshop can be tailored to support your workflow, storage needs, and available outdoor space. Whether you are a hobbyist, a DIY enthusiast, or someone who works with tools daily, your workshop can be designed to give you the room, organisation, and comfort you need.

With a customised layout and finish, the space becomes a practical extension of your home where you can focus on your projects without compromise.

01.

Pick Your Layout

Create a layout that suits your work processes, bench placement, tool storage, and the way you move around the space. Think about where fixed equipment should sit, which areas need open space, and how natural light enters the room.

A well-planned layout helps you stay efficient, reduces clutter, and ensures the workshop supports your projects smoothly.

02.

Choose Your Cladding

Select from timber, cedar, or composite panels to achieve the look and level of maintenance you prefer. Timber delivers a traditional workshop feel, cedar offers a premium appearance with natural warmth, and composite provides a clean modern finish with low upkeep.

Your cladding choice helps define both the exterior style and the durability of the building.

03.

Add Storage Solutions

Improve organisation with shelving, hooks, tool walls, or partitioned areas. These additions create dedicated spaces for equipment, materials, and work supplies, making the workshop easier to manage and more enjoyable to use.

Efficient storage also increases the available working area, helping you keep the space tidy and ready for your next project.

04.

Select the Finishing Touches

Choose internal lighting, plug sockets, vents, and additional comforts to support your daily use. Bright task lighting is ideal for precision work, while good ventilation helps manage fumes, dust, and heat.

Electrical outlets positioned where you need them make the space far more functional, turning your workshop into a reliable and comfortable working environment.

Built to Last, Made for Makers

Noah workshops are designed for serious use, with premium materials and smart features that support craftspeople, DIYers, and professionals alike. From durability to comfort, every element is chosen to help you get the most from your workspace and ensure the structure performs well year after year.

Durable Construction

Strong & Stable

Pressure-treated frames, reinforced flooring, and weatherproof wall panels contribute to long-term strength. These elements help the workshop withstand frequent use, heavy equipment, and varied weather conditions without losing stability. The result is a solid and dependable structure built with reliability in mind.

Year-Round Insulation

Insulated & Wired

Walls, floors, and roofs can be fully insulated and electrically wired to create a workshop that is comfortable and usable throughout the year. Insulation helps maintain steady temperatures, while wiring supports tools, lighting, and any machinery you rely on. This transforms the space into a professional-grade working environment.

Secure & Lockable

Heavy-duty doors, secure locking systems, and ventilation options offer safety and practicality. These features protect your tools and materials while ensuring the internal environment stays suitable for long working sessions. Security and airflow work together to preserve both the structure and your equipment.

Ready for Tools

Generous headroom, strong lighting, and multiple power outlets make the workshop ideal for crafting, repairs, woodworking, or technical projects. The space is designed to accommodate larger tools and active use, allowing you to work comfortably and efficiently.

From ordering through to delivery the service was faultless. The Ashbourne garden room is well designed and solidly constructed. Communication from the Noah team was excellent with lots of updates and advice. The fitters arrived spot on time and worked hard to complete the installation, were very friendly and conscientious. They left the room and surrounding area spotless. Would not hesitate to recommend Noah to anyone considering getting a garden room from them.

I purchased a Mylor composite garden office from Noah garden rooms. Initially my partner and I were trepidatious about the base and delivery and the length of our garden as the stipulations by Noah were quite specific and our garden was quite away from the main road. I sent a video and multiple pictures of the site and then the base after it had been constructed, all the while liaising with Megan and Tilly at customer services to make sure everything went smoothly. On the day of the delivery the lads turned up nice and early and began work straight away. They didn’t mention how far away the site was or that we had to help because of the distance, just began work on the office. Unlike some workmen who spend all their time having lunch in their van these boys worked hard and for the two days kept me upto date as they went. I’m very happy with the office itself and can understand why the specifications are so specific. It’s been a month now and I love it, I spend a lot of time in there and have now made half into a library. Would recommend Noah to anybody who listened.

Absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. Really knowledgeable staff and so so helpful. Megan was so patient in answering all of my ridiculous questions. I have never ordered anything like this before, but the process was so easy and I felt very confident in what I was ordering as the website is really easy to navigate with really helpful information. The room was delivered and erected seamlessly with really polite, knowledgeable and courteous workmen. I cannot recommend this company highly enough. I absolutely love my garden room – everything is exactly as I ordered and it looks fantastic. All of my expectations have been exceeded. I can’t believe what an easy and calm process it was from start to finish. Thank you so much.

Do You Need Planning Permission for a Garden Workshop?

In most cases, garden workshops fall under permitted development rights, so planning permission is not normally required. That said, factors such as the overall size of the building, where it is positioned within the garden, or the way you intend to use the space can influence whether approval is needed.

As a general rule, if the workshop remains under 2.5 metres in height and is installed within your rear garden, it will typically comply with permitted development guidelines. Larger footprints, workshops placed close to boundaries, or buildings intended for commercial or heavy-duty use may still require checks, so it’s sensible to confirm the details with your local authority.

We’ve put together a simple guide outlining the key rules, potential exceptions, and how to ensure your garden workshop stays planning compliant.
