Do You Need Planning Permission for a Log Cabin Office?
Most garden offices, including log cabin models, fall under permitted development. This means you typically will not need planning permission as long as certain criteria are met. These include keeping the building below 2.5 m in height and ensuring it is used for incidental or non-residential purposes. As long as your office is not used as a dwelling or placed too close to boundaries, the process is usually straightforward.
If your log cabin will be placed near a boundary, within a conservation area or used as a main place of business, it is worth checking with your local authority. In most cases, however, log cabin offices are designed to meet planning exemption rules. We can guide you through this and help make sure your project remains compliant with all local policies.
