Designed for Focus, Built for Flexibility

Garden photography studios are designed to bring function and comfort together in a purpose-built space. They offer a distraction-free zone with the lighting, insulation and size you need for professional shoots, editing and client work. Unlike using a spare room or garage, a garden studio creates separation from your home while keeping your creative tools close by.

From portraits and products to creative shoots, the structure supports whatever you need. Whether you want natural light, blackout walls or fixed backdrop areas, we can design the studio to suit your workflow.

  • Insulated walls and ceilings for stable indoor conditions
  • Soundproofing options to minimise outside noise
  • Natural light through rooflights or controlled side windows
  • High ceilings for lighting rigs, stands and larger setups
  • Pre-installed power and cabling for camera and editing gear

Discover What Makes a Noah Garden Room Different

At Noah Garden Rooms, we design and build premium-quality garden rooms that combine craftsmanship, durability, and style — all at the most competitive prices in the UK.

We’re proud to be 5-star rated by our customers for our exceptional quality, service, and value. And if you’d like to see the craftsmanship for yourself, visit our indoor showroom to experience the superior design and finish of our garden rooms in person.

Design a Studio That Works the Way You Shoot

The best garden studios are built around how you actually work. We help you plan the layout to make sure there’s space for your camera, lighting equipment, backdrops and computer setup. Some photographers keep it simple with a shooting bay and desk, while others include storage, waiting areas or creative workbenches.

Whether you shoot fashion, portraits or e-commerce, the room can be fitted for consistent lighting, easy movement and clean backgrounds. We also advise on cable routing, flooring and ventilation for active use across long days.

01.

Size and Layout Options

Studios typically start at 3×4 m for product or headshot work and can expand to 7×4 m or larger for family portraits and fashion. We recommend considering a ceiling height of up to 3 m if you plan to use tall lighting stands or full-length backdrop rollers.

02.

Light and Control

For those who rely on natural light, we suggest North-facing windows or skylights to provide a consistent, soft glow without the harsh glare of direct sun. Alternatively, we can provide blackout blinds and non-reflective wall finishes for total control over your strobe setups.

03.

Floors and Wall Finishes

We offer hard-wearing vinyl, engineered wood or laminate flooring that can withstand the movement of heavy light stands. For the walls, choose between clean white finishes for maximum bounce or neutral greys to prevent colour cast in your shots.

Entry and Exterior Design

Choose double doors for easy access when moving large props or equipment. Our exterior cladding options, from modern composite to traditional timber, ensure your studio looks professional for visiting clients while blending into your garden style.

All-Season Shooting in Comfort

A Noah garden studio gives you a dependable workspace no matter the season. With proper insulation and temperature control, the space stays comfortable whether you’re doing summer shoots or winter edits. Soundproofing also means you won’t be interrupted by passing traffic, garden tools or household noise.

Because the rooms are fully sealed, your gear stays protected from moisture and drafts. You can run fans, heaters or air conditioning units as needed, depending on how you like to work.

Year-Round Insulation

Heating and Cooling Options

Install electric heaters, underfloor heating or passive ventilation systems for all-day use. Climate control is essential for protecting sensitive camera sensors and high-end lenses from temperature fluctuations.

Sound and Silence

Add soundproofing panels, acoustic doors or insulated glazing to minimise distractions. This is particularly valuable if you are recording video content or conducting client consultations alongside your photography.

Climate Comfort

Reliable Power and Cabling

All studios are fitted with hidden wiring, multiple sockets and options for direct-to-desk cabling. We ensure your electrical layout supports high-draw studio strobes and powerful editing workstations without messy extension leads.

Comfort for Clients and Creators

Soft flooring, adjustable lighting and furniture-ready layouts make the space feel inviting and professional. Creating a comfortable “viewing zone” allows clients to review proofs in a relaxed, high-end environment.

From Brief to Final Backdrop

We make the process simple, especially for busy photographers and creative professionals. From your first call to the finished installation, our team handles everything with care and attention. Each photography studio is made in our UK workshop using high-quality materials that support creative use. You only need to prepare a solid base—we’ll do the rest. Delivery, installation, wiring and finishes are all included.

1

Share Your Vision

We ask about your shooting style, equipment, editing needs and space so we can build a brief that fits. Whether you require clear wall-to-wall space for large backdrops or a partitioned editing suite, we plan for it early.

2

Studio Is Built In-House

We construct your studio in our Telford facility using materials chosen for warmth, acoustics and camera-friendly surfaces. Building off-site ensures precision and reduces the time our team spends on your property.

3

Prepare a Level Base

Lay a concrete slab or choose our ground screw system. We’ll send full instructions and dimensions to ensure the foundation is perfectly level, providing a stable floor for tripod-heavy work.

4

Delivered and Installed

We install your studio and connect the internal electrics, preparing it for the immediate setup of your lights and kit. Our team ensures the structure is fully weatherproof and ready for your first shoot.

Really happy with our garden room… From the first visit to the showroom, to the final handing over of the keys.
Sales team and build team were professional and friendly. Always responded quickly to any queries and changes we wanted.
Left the site clean tidy on completion.
The room is exactly as imagined and can’t wait to start using it. Sure to add value to our property.

From ordering through to delivery the service was faultless. The Ashbourne garden room is well designed and solidly constructed. Communication from the Noah team was excellent with lots of updates and advice. The fitters arrived spot on time and worked hard to complete the installation, were very friendly and conscientious. They left the room and surrounding area spotless. Would not hesitate to recommend Noah to anyone considering getting a garden room from them.

I purchased a Mylor composite garden office from Noah garden rooms. Initially my partner and I were trepidatious about the base and delivery and the length of our garden as the stipulations by Noah were quite specific and our garden was quite away from the main road. I sent a video and multiple pictures of the site and then the base after it had been constructed, all the while liaising with Megan and Tilly at customer services to make sure everything went smoothly. On the day of the delivery the lads turned up nice and early and began work straight away. They didn’t mention how far away the site was or that we had to help because of the distance, just began work on the office. Unlike some workmen who spend all their time having lunch in their van these boys worked hard and for the two days kept me upto date as they went. I’m very happy with the office itself and can understand why the specifications are so specific. It’s been a month now and I love it, I spend a lot of time in there and have now made half into a library. Would recommend Noah to anybody who listened.

Absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. Really knowledgeable staff and so so helpful. Megan was so patient in answering all of my ridiculous questions. I have never ordered anything like this before, but the process was so easy and I felt very confident in what I was ordering as the website is really easy to navigate with really helpful information. The room was delivered and erected seamlessly with really polite, knowledgeable and courteous workmen. I cannot recommend this company highly enough. I absolutely love my garden room – everything is exactly as I ordered and it looks fantastic. All of my expectations have been exceeded. I can’t believe what an easy and calm process it was from start to finish. Thank you so much.

Do You Need Planning Permission for a Garden Photography Studio?

In most cases, garden photography studios fall under permitted development rights, meaning you will not usually need planning consent. However, factors such as overall size, how close the building is to boundaries or the way you plan to use the space can influence whether approval is required.

As a general rule, if your structure is under 2.5 m in height and positioned within your back garden, it will typically meet permitted development guidelines. Larger footprints, overnight-use rooms or buildings installed in conservation areas may still require planning checks, so it is worth confirming the details with your local authority.
