Design Your Garden Gym

Your garden gym should reflect your training style and support the way you like to exercise. Whether you want a compact setup focused on essential equipment or a spacious, versatile environment for full body workouts, the design can be tailored entirely to your needs.

With the right layout, finishes, and features, your garden gym becomes a dedicated space that keeps you motivated and ready to train whenever you want.

01.

Choose Your Layout

Pick a size and floorplan that suits the equipment you plan to use and the type of training you enjoy. Think about where machines or free weights will sit, the open space required for stretching or cardio, and how you will safely move around the room. A well-planned layout ensures your gym remains comfortable, functional, and safe during even the most intense sessions.

02.

Select Interior Comforts

Add mirrors to improve form and technique, choose gym-ready flooring for better grip and shock absorption, or reinforce walls for mounted gear such as cable machines, pull-up bars, or storage racks. These interior details help create a professional-standard training zone that supports your routine and protects your equipment.

03.

Equip for Performance

Install lighting, power sockets, and electrical options to support your machines, speakers, fans, or air conditioning units. With suitable electrics and lighting in place, your garden gym remains practical throughout early mornings, late evenings, and all seasons. Performance-focused features make the space feel more like a commercial gym.

04.

Finish in Your Style

Choose your preferred look with timber, composite, or painted wall finishes. Whether you want a rustic training environment, a modern high-energy space, or a calm minimalist retreat, your chosen finish helps define the atmosphere. Styling the gym to your taste keeps you motivated and makes the space feel truly yours.

Made to Train, Built to Last

Our garden gyms are built for real training sessions, not occasional weekend use. Whether you are lifting heavy weights, working on mobility, or running sessions as a personal trainer, these structures are engineered for strength, durability, and long-term performance.

Every part of the gym is chosen to handle repeated impact, equipment load, and changing weather conditions.

Year-Round Insulation

Energy-Efficient Insulation

High-performance insulation in walls, floors, and roofing helps maintain a stable internal temperature throughout the year. This allows you to train comfortably during hot summers, cold winters, and everything in between. Insulation also supports better acoustics and reduces energy usage for heating or cooling.

Built-In Security

Year-Round Strength

All-weather cladding and reinforced framing keep your gym stable and secure through typical UK weather conditions including wind, rain, and varying temperatures. These materials provide long-term durability, ensuring the structure performs consistently and protects your equipment.

Focused and Private

Design your layout and interior so your gym becomes a calm and private training environment. With thoughtful planning, you can create a distraction-free space that supports your focus, whether you are lifting, stretching, or following high-intensity sessions.

Built for Load

Every building is constructed to handle equipment weight, movement, and repeated impact. From reinforced floors to solid structural framing, each element is designed to support heavy machines, racks, and free weights without compromise.

Really happy with our garden room… From the first visit to the showroom, to the final handing over of the keys.
Sales team and build team were professional and friendly. Always responded quickly to any queries and changes we wanted.
Left the site clean tidy on completion.
The room is exactly as imagined and can’t wait to start using it. Sure to add value to our property.

From ordering through to delivery the service was faultless. The Ashbourne garden room is well designed and solidly constructed. Communication from the Noah team was excellent with lots of updates and advice. The fitters arrived spot on time and worked hard to complete the installation, were very friendly and conscientious. They left the room and surrounding area spotless. Would not hesitate to recommend Noah to anyone considering getting a garden room from them.

— Tony Lawther

I purchased a Mylor composite garden office from Noah garden rooms. Initially my partner and I were trepidatious about the base and delivery and the length of our garden as the stipulations by Noah were quite specific and our garden was quite away from the main road. I sent a video and multiple pictures of the site and then the base after it had been constructed, all the while liaising with Megan and Tilly at customer services to make sure everything went smoothly. On the day of the delivery the lads turned up nice and early and began work straight away. They didn’t mention how far away the site was or that we had to help because of the distance, just began work on the office. Unlike some workmen who spend all their time having lunch in their van these boys worked hard and for the two days kept me upto date as they went. I’m very happy with the office itself and can understand why the specifications are so specific. It’s been a month now and I love it, I spend a lot of time in there and have now made half into a library. Would recommend Noah to anybody who listened.

Absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. Really knowledgeable staff and so so helpful. Megan was so patient in answering all of my ridiculous questions. I have never ordered anything like this before, but the process was so easy and I felt very confident in what I was ordering as the website is really easy to navigate with really helpful information. The room was delivered and erected seamlessly with really polite, knowledgeable and courteous workmen. I cannot recommend this company highly enough. I absolutely love my garden room – everything is exactly as I ordered and it looks fantastic. All of my expectations have been exceeded. I can’t believe what an easy and calm process it was from start to finish. Thank you so much.

Do You Need Planning Permission for a Garden Gym?

Most garden gyms fall under permitted development rights, but some areas—such as conservation zones—can have different rules. It’s best to check with your local council. If you live in a listed building, you may need planning permission.

As a general guide, a garden gym under 30 sq m, no higher than 2.5 m, and built in your rear garden will usually meet permitted development rules. Larger buildings, structures used for business, anything over 2.5 m near a boundary, or projects within conservation areas may still require approval, so always confirm with your local authority.

We’ve also created a simple guide that explains the main rules, exceptions, and how to keep your project compliant.
