Warm, Weather-Resistant, and Naturally Beautiful

Cedar garages are more than just attractive; they’re built to withstand the elements with minimal maintenance. The timber’s natural oils help protect it from decay and insects, while its breathable properties allow moisture to escape, reducing the risk of warping or damp. This makes cedar an ideal choice for garages in variable UK climates, where ventilation and longevity matter. Whether you’re after a rustic, natural feel or a polished finish, cedar delivers both character and consistency.

At Noah, every cedar garage is made in the UK using premium Canadian Western Red Cedar. Each structure is tailored to your layout and built to deliver lasting beauty and reliability.

  • Naturally rot- and insect-resistant with no need for heavy chemical treatments
  • Maintains structure and finish in wet, cold, or dry weather
  • Available in multiple tones: reddish-brown, pale gold, or silver-grey as it ages
  • Aromatic scent and breathable timber help regulate interior humidity
  • Suitable for insulated builds, storage, or creative conversions

Designed to Complement Your Home and Garden

Cedar garages bring style and value to your property. Each design is customised to match your home’s architecture, whether you’re after something rustic and traditional or clean and modern. The timber’s grain and tone provide a rich, textured finish, while the frame design and cladding layout create your desired look.

Pick the Right Roof and Cladding Style

Choose from apex or pent rooflines, with horizontal or vertical cladding options. Noah’s Silverstone Cedar range offers flexibility in the profile and panel type to create a sleek or classic aesthetic.

02.

Choose Your Access Setup

Fit manual or electric garage doors, add side access for walk-ins, or install barn-style double doors. Frame depth can also be adjusted for insulation or workshop needs.

03.

Select Your Timber Grade and Finish

We use premium Western Red Cedar as standard. It can be left untreated to silver naturally into a sophisticated grey or stained with UV-protective oils to preserve its deeper, vibrant tones.

04.

Match to Landscape and Driveway

Design your garage to align with your driveway layout or garden views. Window and door placements can be adjusted for privacy, light, or symmetry.

Cedar That Performs Without Constant Upkeep

What sets cedar apart is how little it demands. It holds its form and finish through years of use and exposure. Cedar’s internal oils and low density mean it resists water absorption, so it’s less likely to warp or split. For garages storing high-value cars, bikes, or sports gear, this natural resilience is a key benefit.

Naturally Durable Timber

Western Red Cedar contains natural preservatives that protect against fungi and rot. No pressure treatment or industrial coatings are strictly needed for durability.

Built-In Security

Stable and Breathable

The timber breathes, allowing moisture to escape. This means a significantly reduced risk of internal damp or trapped humidity in workshop setups.

Year-Round Insulation

Weather-Ready and Thermally Efficient

Cedar offers natural insulation properties due to its cellular structure. It helps keep the interior cooler in summer and warmer in winter compared to metal or concrete alternatives.

Durable Construction

Ages With Character

If left untreated, cedar ages into a distinguished silvery-grey tone. This natural weathering process adds charm without compromising the performance or structural integrity of the garage.

From ordering through to delivery the service was faultless. The Ashbourne garden room is well designed and solidly constructed. Communication from the Noah team was excellent with lots of updates and advice. The fitters arrived spot on time and worked hard to complete the installation, were very friendly and conscientious. They left the room and surrounding area spotless. Would not hesitate to recommend Noah to anyone considering getting a garden room from them.

I purchased a Mylor composite garden office from Noah garden rooms. Initially my partner and I were trepidatious about the base and delivery and the length of our garden as the stipulations by Noah were quite specific and our garden was quite away from the main road. I sent a video and multiple pictures of the site and then the base after it had been constructed, all the while liaising with Megan and Tilly at customer services to make sure everything went smoothly. On the day of the delivery the lads turned up nice and early and began work straight away. They didn’t mention how far away the site was or that we had to help because of the distance, just began work on the office. Unlike some workmen who spend all their time having lunch in their van these boys worked hard and for the two days kept me upto date as they went. I’m very happy with the office itself and can understand why the specifications are so specific. It’s been a month now and I love it, I spend a lot of time in there and have now made half into a library. Would recommend Noah to anybody who listened.

Absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. Really knowledgeable staff and so so helpful. Megan was so patient in answering all of my ridiculous questions. I have never ordered anything like this before, but the process was so easy and I felt very confident in what I was ordering as the website is really easy to navigate with really helpful information. The room was delivered and erected seamlessly with really polite, knowledgeable and courteous workmen. I cannot recommend this company highly enough. I absolutely love my garden room – everything is exactly as I ordered and it looks fantastic. All of my expectations have been exceeded. I can’t believe what an easy and calm process it was from start to finish. Thank you so much.

Do Cedar Garages Need Planning Permission?

In many cases, cedar garages fall within permitted development limits. If the building is under 2.5 m high and placed in the rear garden, you likely won’t need planning consent. However, factors like proximity to boundaries or location in a Conservation Area can affect this.

We offer planning guidance early in the design process to ensure your project stays compliant. For buildings over 30 square metres, Building Regulations may also apply. Read our full Planning Guide for more information.
